Er is een nieuwe software versie beschikbaar voor de montana, versie 4.80. Gebruik de webupdater om de software te installeren. Op de van GPScity.com hebben ze de Garmin montana naast de oregon en dakota gehouden. Wat natuurlijk opvalt is het grootte scherm, of het toestel te groot is voor outdoor gebruik zal moeten blijken. Het verschil duidelijk zichtbaar op de video.
